Team member Bree Sapp sat down with author and Greenville native Pamela Tuck to discuss her family history as well as her father's and her own experiences with race relations in the education system within Pitt County. She touched on the Till vs Pitt Board of education case which was put forth by her grandfather and how the education system in Pitt County has/has not changed since that point.

Tuck explained that though the case her grandfather put forth to end discrimination in the schools was left virtually unsolved her experiences in the education system seemed to be better than that of her father.
“ I was often reminded how grateful I should be for the opportunity that came so freely and so easily for me. Someone had to suffer. Someone had to, you know, shed many tears, bloodshed, and different things in order for me to have those opportunities."- Pamela Tuck
Our discussion about Pam Tuck's experience expanded to what we've each noticed in the education systems today and how we have or have not been impacted by the way the system handles race relations.
